On Saturday mornings like today, I like things to be a tad bit different. I don’t feel like getting all dressed up really early in the morning. I may not even feel like cooking. I like to be a little lazy. Besides the fact that Saturdays are my Sabbath days, Saturdays are also my designated “self-care” days!
On these days I like to put in a little more effort into my body, my skin, and my mind. I like to feel pampered to say the least. The goal is to feel relaxed, refreshed, and renewed.
Here are 10 Self Care Tips You Need!
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #1: Develop an incredible skin care routine
On my self care/love Saturdays I love to go the extra mile for my skin. I love a good sheet mask, my facial brush, and toner. Not only is it good for my skin and helps my skin to look smooth, but it also just makes me feel generally good. In addition to facial skin care, I love a great body scrub, and right now I’m really loving this affordable one.True love is having a great skin care routine! Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #2: Meditation
I know, either you believe in meditation, or you don’t. But I’m telling you: reconnecting your breathing to your body, and just being in the moment with your body is POWERFUL! A lot of people believe that mediation is sitting in a child’s pose for 12 hours chanting “OM”…they believe something wonderfully magnificent is supposed to happen in those 12 hours. Maybe you think you’re supposed to reemerge as a new person. This isn’t the reality. Meditation is simple. It’s taking a moment, or several moments, to experience yourself. If you’re like me, you may struggle with keeping your mind clear. That’s okay too. Close your eyes, clear your mind, and breathe. If you get distracted, acknowledge it, let it go, re-clear your mind, and breathe. Rinse. Repeat.Meditation is the real key to peace of mind! Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #3: Drink more water
Drinking more water is a goal I strive for on a day-to-day basis. BUT, I put especially more effort into it on my self-care Saturdays. I fill up a huge bottle of water, and have a little competition with myself! It’s fun, I feel healthier, and it makes me feel good! If you struggle with the taste of water, try adding some fruit. I love adding cucumbers and lemon!Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #4: Take care of your lady (or lad) bits
This is my favorite tip so far! Yoni steaming is an ancient practice that uses a holistic approach of steaming certain herbs to cleanse the uterus. Some have improved their fertility, helped with painful and heavy period, and cleansed their bodies of infections! It’s awesome! I love to take a shower, dry off, and then sit over my steams and fall into the wonderful experience. It’s such an incredible feeling and I usually feel a spiritual connection as well. Men, before you click away, you can do it as well. My husband steams with me all the time! My favorite place to get my yoni steams (if I don’t source the herbs myself) is Soul Vibrance.I want to try yoni steaming the next time I have a self-care day. Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #5: Opt for baths instead of showers
Most of time I prefer a quick shower (I don’t like wasting water). But on Saturdays I like to run a warm bath, add some epsom salt, add some essential oils, and a beautiful bath bomb and relax! I like to get a nice book, light some candles, and lay back in my bath and just feel pampered.Bathing is like living luxuriously. Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #6: Indulge a little bit
Though I’m vegan, I’m not a health expert. I eat what I want for the most part, but if you do follow some sort of healthy eating regimen, take a little time to have your favorite meal or eat a piece of cake. Whatever it is that you like to eat, enjoy that for a moment!Indulging every once in a while is SELF-LOVE! Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #7: Try some yoga!
I’m not a yogi, but I do love doing yoga. There are so many benefits to yoga and once you try it you’ll wanna keep doing it!I feel so stretched, relaxed, and happy after doing some. I recommend starting with a beginner yoga routine. I love going to youtube and doing quick routines in the morning. Try this one out.Self-care Saturday = Yoga! 🙂 Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #8: Clean your house
Cleaning sucks until you finish. That’s what you’ve got to tell yourself when you don’t feel like doing it. Not only will you have a clean space, but you will feel amazing! Cleaning and/or de-cluttering clears out space in your mind…not just your house! I like to make a game out of it. I like to spend about 15-20 minutes and do speed cleanings in every room!Adulting makes you look forward to cleaning. I actually see it as self-care! 😛 Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #9: Go to the park
Believe it or not, being in nature is actually good for your mind. Seriously, it’s scientifically proven! Take some time, go to the park, or just go in your backyard and breathe in the fresh air. Go for a walk, write in your journal and just be in nature for a moment!Nature is good for your mind, body and soul! Click To Tweet
10 self-care tips you need| Tip #10: Positive affirmation rituals
If you aren’t regularly reminding yourself of how wonderful you are, then there is no better time like the present to get the ball rolling! I like to write mine down, say them aloud, and rip up the paper or burn them (kinda like you did with your Christmas list). I write down things in a positive and present way. For example, I may say: “I am a beautiful woman who thinks positively of her mind and body”. Instead of saying: “I want to feel beautiful.” Also if you’re trying to stop doing something don’t say or write it in a negative way. For example you may say: ” I have stopped smoking, feel no urge to smoke, and feel incredible.” Instead of: “Soon I will quit smoking.” These are great ways to up your vibe and feel empowered!I am incredible person and I don't need anyone else to validate me!
